I use popular advertising and current events as a means to examine a multitude of exploitative influences that make the consumption of beings acceptable. I take interest in the complex relationships that occur between constructs of race, gender, and species and how I can observe these through imagery.
I lean towards hybridizations of painting and sculpture in synchronization with recurring concepts of intersectionality amongst identities. This allows for an exploration of gray areas within the typically constructed social norms surrounding consumption, ownership, and the history of painting. Overall, I am intrigued by the complexities of what it means to be a human, animal, and/or object.
