I am interested in natural patterning and its relationship to communication in the natural world such as warning or attractant. I am curious about the translation of this natural imagery and its application in the human world. What is lost in translation?  What is gained? Ornament is a visual embellishment attached to structure, whether that structure is the architectural facade of a building, or jewelry on the human form.  Ornamentation is a representation of natural forms, such as plants or animal skins.  In Constructing Color, I intend to explore these aspects of ornamentation, where the work is derived of natural imagery, wearable, and offers optical engagement.
