My work is emotional and driven by process. Re-purposed leftover and miss-tinted latex house paint has been used as a sculptural component in these three recent works. The multiple layers of colors and textures are a blend of dried out paint I have salvaged from discarded cans and also paint I have poured into Rubbermaid Tote lids to dry and then harvest. I tear and fold this thick, rubbery material into compositions that bear a strange relationship to botanical artwork. I nurture these unwanted materials into forms that question the delineation of beauty and ugliness.
